2023 Side event of the 32nd Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice: "SDG16: Accelerating Progress to Achieve Justice for Children”

The side event of the 32nd Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice titled "SDG16: Accelerating Progress to Achieve Justice for Children" was organised together with the Governo do BrasilThailand Institute of Justice, Ministry of Justice of Thailand, Government of the Netherlands, Government of Canada, and Government of Indonesia, as well as UNODC,UN SRSG on Violence against Children, OECD - OCDE, Institute for Inspiring Children's Futures, Legal empowerment fund and Baker McKenzie.

"The event invited governments to actively seek how best to innovate, implement and invest in child-centred policies for children who come into contact and conflict with the law and justice systems."

During this side event, we launched the Policy brief: "Digital justice for children: prompting question for policy makers" This policy brief presents the benefits and limitations of innovations in digital justice spaces. It also highlights prompting actions and questions for policymakers in assessing their actions related to digital justice for children.

This resource is essential for policymakers and stakeholders striving to scaling up justice innovations and applying imagination and safeguards for digital justice tools with children.
