Child-friendly police standard operating procedures for children in contact and in conflict with the law in the Gaza Strip

This document illustrates Child-Friendly Police Standard for Children in Contact and in Conflict with the Law in the Gaza Strip. It answers to an effort to make the formal justice system more responsive to the needs of children in contact and in conflict with the law. Indeed, this document details practices and procedures that police should implement in order to apply a child-friendly approach in their operations when dealing with children in contact and in conflict with the law. It also aims to facilitate a level of efficiency and reduction of discrepancy in the police force-response and achieve forms standardization and uniformity of performances of the police force in Gaza. Standards Operating Procedures illustrated in this documents are based on right-based, gender-responsive and child-centered approach and are the results of literature and best practices review, key informants interviews and a consultative workshop.
