Climate in-justice for children: How climate crisis affects access to justice and children’s rights

This advocacy brief builds upon the activities of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) concerning the 2023 general comment No. 26 on children’s rights and the environment with a special focus on climate change, providing a foundation to place children at the forefront of efforts to address climate change and further our collective commitment to ensuring a sustainable future for all children. It covers vital topics like climate litigation, freedom of association, justice in the climate crisis, and youth crime prevention strategies. Particularly, aiming at emphasizing and operationalizing Section D ‘Access to Justice & Remedies’ (paragraphs 82 – 90) of the general comment No. 26.
