This official manual for the 2025 World Congress on Justice with Children has been drafted by the Global Initiative on Justice with Children (GIJWC) led by Terre des hommes Foundation-Lausanne and Penal Reform International (PRI) in collaboration with the International Association of Youth and Family Judges and Magistrates (IAYFJM), the Global Campus of Human Rights, the University of Comillas, and Tierra de Hombres Foundation - Spain.
The World Congresses bring together global stakeholders, each 3 to 5 years, to exchange ideas and strategies for advancing children's rights and child justice worldwide.
This manual is the guide to organizing the next edition of the World Congress, covering its background, purpose, and logistics. Inside is comprehensive information about the GIJWC, past congresses, and what is new for the 5th edition in June 2025. Detailed program information, including themes, schedules, and abstract submission guidelines, are provided (up to date October 2024). Additionally, the manual covers congress outcomes, organizational structure, partnerships, State representation, promotion strategies, logistics, registration, and planning timeline.
This is an evolving document that will have several versions and is intended to be shared with our associated partners, donors, and other interested stakeholders as well as participants of the World Congress.
We hope this resource fosters wider participation and meaningful discussions and actions for child justice worldwide.
