The study focused on the treatment of children in conflict with the law, the applicable child protection measures, restorative approaches and diversion measures in Kosovo. To this end, a mixed methodological approach was used by the team of experts and the designed tools enabled them to collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data in the selected municipalities of Pristina, Klina, Gjilan and Vitia. Findings showed that it is evident that the national legal framework is in accordance with international conventions and standards. However, lack of adequate and proportionate response by the stakeholders responsible for implementation of child protection policies is evidenced. Particularly, the need for preventive work with children under the age of 14 remains a gap in the current legal framework.
