This document is a theoretical framework which should be used for promoting interventions and measures of effective reintegration of children, refining knowledge as well as framework for understanding the relevance and importance of a desistance approach for working with children in conflict with the law and provide specific theoretical elements from criminology, namely mental health and psychosocial (MHPSS) models. Furthermore, this document also aims to complement and reinforce the existing strategic and operational resources that underpin the work of the Tdh Access to Justice Programme, including: Tdh’s 2030 Vision and 2016-2020 Strategy, Tdh’s Restorative Juvenile Justice Thematic Policy (Tdh, 2014c), Tdh’s Access to Justice Theory of Change (Tdh, 2018) and Tdh’s Framework to Support Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing in Access to Justice (Tdh, 2019), and provides recommendations for child justice practitioners, in order to promote the intervention for children in conflict with the law.
