Children’s Rights Summit on Access to Justice for Children organised as Preparatory Meeting for the 5th World Congress on Justice With Children in South Africa

We are excited to announce that the 11th Children’s Rights Summit will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, serving as a preparatory meeting for the upcoming 5th World Congress on Justice With Children in 2025.

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Date: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 | 8 am - 4 pm SAST

This in-person event, focused on advancing children’s access to justice, will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm (SAST). The summit will also include important consultations for the UNCRC’s General Comment #27 and preparations for the 2025 Congress.

Keynote speaker Professor Karabo Ozah, Director of the Centre for Child Law at the University of Pretoria and a member of the World Congress’ Scientific Committee, will lead the discussions.

Highlights of the event include:

Youth Experiential Learning Simulation, where young participants engage in real-life scenarios related to justice processes.

Roundtable discussions focused on identifying practical solutions to improve justice systems for children worldwide.
