Illegal detention of migrant children in Switzerland: a status report

This report dedicates to migrant children in Switzerland. In order to address the lack of information on the administrative detention of children in Switzerland. Tdh, therefore, provides mandate to the Geneva-based Global Detention Project, to carry out research aiming to assess the situation of non-citizen children in Switzerland who are placed in detention for reasons related to their immigration status. Also, the report explores issues concerning migrant children in detention in Switzerland, which are as follows: the extensive use of detention, a lack of comprehensive, disaggregated detention statistics at the cantonal level and the inconsistency of legal application, and provides some suggestions in relation to the administrative detention of children.
