Justice for Children Programme. Qualitative Documentation Report on the Impact of Alternatives to Detention for Children in Conflict with the Law in the West Bank and Gaza Strip

This report highlights evidence-based impacts of Alternative to Detention for children in conflict with the law to support child justice actors in Palestine in their efforts to advance the scope of Alternative to Detention measures in line with the Juvenile Protection Law of 2016. It also provides an overview of the impact of Alternative to Detention practices in the West Bank and Gaza strip and evaluates the level of adherence to national laws and international standards. It illustrates a qualitative assessment of the impact of Alternative to Detention measures on children in conflict with the law that were applied during the period February 2017 – May 2018, as part of the Justice for Children Project that is implemented by Terre des homme (Tdh), in partnership with Shorouq Organization, in Bethlehem (WB), and the Palestinian Centre for Democracy and Conflict Resolution (PCDCR) and MoSD (GS).
